Out on the journey, or writing about it.

I explore concepts of travel, freedom, and vocation in an unjust world. Subscribe for updates on my forthcoming book, WanderLOST.

Witty subhead about me.

I’m a white, male, millennial, American-born Christian. In other-words, my life exists (undeservedly) at the pinnacle.

That’s my word for this unique moment of unprecedented material advantage in the grand, oppressive story of humanity.

I’ve spent WAY more than my share of time traveling the world; plotting my ideal vocation, and embracing ‘freedom.’

Today, I am thinking and writing about how to live well with such a fraught history— and trying to develop the character to do so.

Witty subhead about my portfolio of work.

I write about three things…mainly:

1) Travel: different cultures, places, and the strange forces inside that urge us to go [and, of course, post #yolo];

2) Freedom: what we really mean by this word, how we seek to attain it, and what to do once we have it [hint: not #yolo];

3) Vocation: how a Church born of a crucified carpenter might better wrestle with its current place at ‘the pinnacle.’

My forthcoming book WanderLOST (Fall 2021) uses vignettes from my personal journey to explore these concepts at depth.

I also publish occasionally for my work within the international development/humanitarian industrial complex.

In recent years, I have written, spoken, or worked for the organizations below. You are now supposed to think I’m credible.
